A three-week individual project to design a recruitment and education platform for the disadvantaged Aucklanders.
Many Aucklanders are prosperous and have high living standards, yet there are significant socio-economic deprivation levels, often in distinct geographic, ethnic and age groups. This is partly due to structural discrimination, unequal education and employment opportunities, along with unaffordable housing costs.
My goal is to fight this inequality by designing a platform to easily and automatically find employment and provide the skills needed for it.
“As a job seeker I want to quickly and easily find employment, so that I can provide for my family by doing a job I like.”

An unknown number of people living in uninhabitable dwellings
Analysis of 2013 Census data by the University of Otago (Amore, 2016) found 20,296 Aucklanders met the definition of homeless.
Data based on the quarter of December 2020 - February 2021:
According to the Ministry of Social Development, the number of people receiving “job seeker–work ready” support has increased from about 85,000 in January 2020 to 135,000 in January 2021, a net increase of 50,000.

I wanted to understand how facilitated these people are in finding a job, what are the existing resources, processes and problems:
